What time are the fireworks?
Simple answer, shortly after sunset, Which is officially at 9:15 pm. Plan on close to 9:30.

What time are the roads closing?
We close the roadways dependant on the pedestrian traffic. After moving the event from Saturday to Friday last year, we were able to keep the main roadways open a little longer. Once onsite parking fills up, and there is an increase in pedestrian traffic comming in we begin closing the roads for safety. The roadways remain closed until the crowd has cleared the grounds and surrounding area. As a rule, both Five Mile and Inkster are closed by 8:00 pm, but could be closed earlier.

We also realize this event, (as any major event in any other municipality does), will create traffic problems on both main roads and side streets. We do our best to give clear concise detour routes. We also know many drivers will attempt to find quicker, shorter routes through the subdivisions, ignoring the suggested detours. With the majority of our officers directing traffic and working security at the festival, we are not able to be on every side street at every stop sign. We will do our best to respond to complaints in areas as best we can.

We ask that drivers and residents use patience and respect. This is a great, family friendly event, that happens once a year. A good many people volunteer, give up days off, and work long hours to make it happen for our residents. We appreciate the support, and look forward to another awesome display! Thank you Redford!

STREET SWEEPING UPDATE (5/21/18 thru 5/25/18):

The Redford Township Water Department will continue street sweeping services this week in the following areas.

• TELEGRAPH RD. to INKSTER RD. -and-
GRAHAM ST. to SIX MILE RD.

To allow the street sweeper accessibility, please ensure the street in front of your home is free of any vehicles, debris or other obstacles during the day while we are in your neighborhood. Our staff will be traveling east-to-west to avoid overlapping weekly garbage pickup for these neighborhoods.
