🗳️ Still Need to Register to Vote?

The deadline to register online or by mail for the November 3rd General Election has passed, but it’s not too late!

✅ You can still register in person at the Clerk’s Office with proof of residency, even on Election Day.

Visit mi.gov/vote to register to vote, find your early voting location, and get more election information.

🗳️ 18 DAYS UNTIL THE NOVEMBER 3RD GENERAL ELECTION!

Redford Township voters have three ways to cast their ballot. Make your plan to vote!

1️⃣ VOTE ON ELECTION DAY
📅 Tuesday, November 3rd
🕖 Polls are open from 7:00 AM–8:00 PM.

You must vote at your assigned precinct. Look up your polling location at https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us.

2️⃣ VOTE BY ABSENTEE BALLOT
You can request an application to be mailed to you, complete one online (https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/AVApplication/Index), or visit the Clerk’s Office in person. Once we receive and process your application, we’ll issue you your absentee ballot.

📬 Friday, October 30th: Last day for the Clerk’s Office to mail absentee ballots.
📍 Monday, November 2nd, by 4:00 PM: Last day to pick up an absentee ballot in person, unless you are registering to vote on Election Day.

✅ Absentee ballots must be returned to the Clerk’s Office by 8:00 PM on Election Day to be counted.

3️⃣ VOTE EARLY
📅 Saturday, October 24th–Sunday, November 1st

📬 TODAY IS THE LAST DAY for Early Absentee Voter Ballot Pick-Up!

If you’ve already requested an Absentee Voter ballot, or you’re on the Permanent Ballot List, today, Friday, September 25, is the last day to pick up your ballot early in person before ballots are mailed out on Monday.

This early pick-up option is completely optional. If you do not pick up your ballot today, your ballot will be included in the bulk mailing going out Monday, September 28th.

Please remember: Voters may only pick up their own ballot and must present an acceptable form of photo ID.

📬 Voting absentee by mail remains a safe and reliable option for the November election.

On September 16th, the U.S. Postal Service provided election officials with two important updates confirming that it will be “business as usual” for Election Mail in 2026.

USPS notified us that:
✅ New federal ballot-mail rules will not be implemented or enforced for the 2026 General Election.
✅ Election Mail will be handled using the same established processes and procedures used in previous elections.
✅ Postal facilities nationwide are being instructed to follow consistent Election Mail policies without shortcuts.
✅ Trained Election Mail ambassadors and monitors will be deployed to support local operations and accountability.
✅ USPS will continue working directly with state and local election officials throughout the election.

Recent court action also means the proposed new requirements will not take effect for this November’s election.

Redford voters should feel confident choosing absentee voting. Once you receive your ballot, complete it carefully, sign the return envelope, and return it as soon as possible by mail, at the Clerk’s Office dropbox, or through one of Redford's three offsite secure ballot drop boxes.

The Redford Township Clerk’s Office will continue working closely with the USPS and monitoring Election Mail throughout the election.

Are you registered to vote?
If you answered "no," Michigan voters can use the https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/RegisterVoter/Index to register to vote or update your address.
If you answered "yes," you can use the https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us to check your voting registration, find your polling place and view your sample ballot.

Are you planning to vote by absentee ballot?
If you plan to vote absentee in Michigan, you can apply for an absentee ballot online at https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/AVApplication/Index

Do you have questions about voting as a student?
The Michigan Secretary of State offers information specifically for student voters at https://www.michigan.gov/sos/elections/voting/student-voting, including guidance on registering and voting at your school or home address.

Are you ready to vote?
If you're registered, know where you'll vote and understand your options before Election Day, then you're definitely !

A note regarding eligibility: You must be a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years old by the date of the election to vote.
