📬 Important Election Update for Voters on Our Permanent AV Application List 📬

The Township Clerk’s Office has mailed Absent Voter (AV) ballot applications to all residents currently on our Permanent AV Application List.

Inside your application, you will find an important letter explaining upcoming changes to Michigan election law. We strongly encourage all residents to carefully read this letter and understand how these changes may affect future elections.

Please note: after the August Election, the Permanent AV Application List will no longer exist due to a change in state law.

Voters will now have two options moving forward:

✅ Join the Permanent Ballot List
Residents on this list will automatically receive an absentee ballot for every election they are eligible to vote in.

OR

📝 Request and submit a new AV ballot application before every election
If you choose not to join the Permanent Ballot List, you will need to request an absentee ballot application each time you wish to vote by mail.

We encourage residents to review the information included with their application and choose the option that best fits their voting needs.

If you have any questions, please contact the Township Clerk’s Office at (313) 387 - 2750. Thank you for staying informed and engaged in the election process.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made Clerk Sanders’ 2nd Annual Shred Day a huge success!

Rain or shine, our residents showed up in an incredible way to help protect themselves from identity theft while also supporting a cleaner environment. Because of your participation, we were able to shred 12,022 pounds of paper. That’s over 6 tons and the equivalent of saving 62 trees! 🌳

We truly appreciate everyone who took the time to attend, as well as our staff and partners who helped make this event possible. Your support continues to show the strength and spirit of our community.

Thank you again for making this year’s Shred Day such a success. We look forward to seeing you again next year!

Dear Residents,

We would like to extend our sincere apologies regarding the recent voter information cards that were mailed out. It has come to our attention that some of these cards arrived wet during delivery by the United States Postal Service (USPS), which caused the ink to smudge and made the important information illegible.

We understand how important clear and accessible voting information is, and we regret any inconvenience or frustration this may have caused. Please know that the Clerk’s Office is here to assist you. If you received a card that is difficult to read, you are welcome to contact the Clerk’s Office at (313) 387 - 2750, and a staff member will gladly mail you a replacement. Alternatively, you may visit the office in person, where we will be happy to print a new voter information card for you on the spot.

These cards are for informational purposes only. You are still required to bring your valid identification when you come to vote. The voter information card simply lets you know where you will vote on Election Day. Once you receive your new voter information card, no action is required.

Voters who are currently on the Permanent Absentee Voter Ballot List will remain on the list and will automatically receive an absentee ballot prior to each election. No further action is required.

For your convenience, you may also access your voter information online through the Michigan Voter Information Center (MVIC) website: https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure all residents have the information they need.

Thank you for your continued engagement and participation in our community.

Sincerely,
Karla M. Sanders, Clerk
