REDFORD TOWNSHIP VOTERS: YOUR PERMANENT ABSENTEE BALLOT STATUS REMAINS THE SAME
Recent news about a U.S. Supreme Court decision involving federal election directives may raise questions for Redford voters who are signed up to automatically receive an absentee ballot. The voting process has not changed for Redford voters.
If you are an eligible Redford voter on Michigan’s Permanent Absentee Ballot List, you remain on the list and should continue expecting an absentee ballot to be mailed to you for upcoming elections. You do not need to reapply or take any additional action because of this court decision.
The Supreme Court’s Aug. 24 decision did not determine that the President’s executive order is lawful or change Michigan’s voting laws. The case is still ongoing.
The Redford Township Clerk’s Office will continue administering elections under Michigan and federal law using the same trusted procedures and safeguards our voters rely on. If anything does change, Karla M. Sanders, Redford Township Clerk, will get the information out in a variety of ways.
