CONGRATULATIONS, Clearwater, FL!

The Florida Chapter of the American Planning Association has honored Clearwater's Beach Walk.

The city's beach walk earned an Award of Merit in the "Great Places in Florida Public Spaces" category.

The city spent $30 million on the walkway to transform it in 2008.

The walk is located in the south end of Clearwater Beach.

"The Beach Walk exemplifies a Great Public Space by providiing a place for people from all over to come and relax or recreate while enjoying Clearwater's beaches," said Director of Planning and Development Michael Delk.
