Feed Washington

Feed Washington Feed Washington's mission is to end childhood hunger in Washington State. Maybe for you it’s $1, $5 or $50.

Feed Washington believes it is the responsibility of all non-hungry adults in Washington to eradicate childhood hunger in our State. We ask those adults who aren’t hungry to commit to a small recurring credit card donation in an amount they won’t notice on their monthly credit card bill. The individual amount doesn’t matter; it’s the collective impact that is important.

There are 4,000 hungry and food-insecure children in the Seattle School District. Let that sink in for a moment — 4,000 hungry kids in Seattle.

I founded Feed Washington to end childhood hunger in Washington State. So far, together, we’ve raised over $950,000, providing more than 1.3 million meals for kids across our state.

Now, we’re taking on a bold new goal:
to end hunger for every one of those 4,000 Seattle kids. Not just impact their hunger, but end it.

What will it take? A monthly, recurring donation stream of $275,000. That may sound ambitious — but it’s absolutely achievable. If even a fraction of Seattle’s 300,000 non-hungry households give just $5 per month, we will meet our goal and create a significant reserve fund.

Let’s show what’s possible when a city comes together to care for its children.

Back-to-school means Backpack Brigade is launching into full gear. It’s a nonprofit that helps feed kids in the Seattle area. Their focus is to help students who rely on school meals for food, but end up going hungry over the weekend.

"Half a million Washington kids will get summer food aid through a new federal program"

It is great to see that our federal government is taking summer food aid seriously and supporting our hungry kids when they're not in school.
