A YES vote for operational levy #9-175 will improve our community! The recreation center will provide valuable public services such as educational classes, workout equipment, gym, and child watch. It will provide an indoor space for families to enjoy when the weather is less than ideal. It will provide a safe space for teens to gather and work on homework or play basketball. It will support all pool users with specialized areas for different interest groups, such as lap swimmers or aqua aerobics.
Lets help make our community happy and healthy by supporting the Redmond recreation center!

Voting YES on operational levy #9-175 for the Redmond recreation center will greatly reduce pool usage conflicts!

Right now, Redmond has ONE pool that is used for all these activites and more. With growing demand for the pool, its impossible to accomodate everyone!
- community lap swim
- high school sport practice
- high school sport competitions
- fitness classes
- swim lessons
- aqua-aerobics

The new recreation center will have TWO pools, one is a lap swim pool that can be used for lap swimming or fitness classes, and another dedicated to recreational use with a lazy river, slide, and warm water area for warm water aerobics.

The levy will provide enough funds for RAPRD to keep the Cascade Swim Center open, giving Redmond THREE pools! This will reduce user conflict as high school programs could use the current pool, keeping the new rec center pool open for community use.

Lets talk numbers for the recreation center operational levy.

The tax rate of $0.21 per $1000 assessed property value for 5 years is projected to raise $1.1 million to fund operating costs for RAPRD, including utilities, staffing, supplies, and programming costs for the new recreation center. Additional funding for the facility will come from fundraising and RAPRD's current permanent tax rate, which hasn't been changed in decades.

While the levy measure is on the November 2024 ballot, the levy will not be assessed until November 2025. The timing will be just right - the recreation center is expected to open in winter 2026.

We get it - this election season is tiring. Left this, right that, vote blue, vote red. There is so much going on.

But here is an easy, non-political measure to get behind. Voting yes for the recreation center operational levy allows the new facility to open as intended with the proposed hours, admission fee, and programs and keeps the current Cascade Swim Center open. The recreation center will provide opportunities for everyone in our community, from 0-100+ years old. Support families and your neighbors by voting yes on levy #9-175 to provide affordable recreation for everyone.
