During Military Appreciation Month, we proudly recognize and thank the military service members, veterans, and military families who are part of our Redmond Police Department team and our community. Their dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to serving others continue to make a lasting impact both in and out of uniform.

We are grateful for those who have served our country and now continue serving our community through public safety, leadership, and volunteerism. Your courage, resilience, and sense of duty inspire us every day.

To all who have served, and to the families who stand beside them, thank you for your service and sacrifice.

Redmond Police hosted an International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA) Certification/Bike School from May 25–29, 2026.

Throughout the week, officers from multiple agencies trained in bicycle handling skills, patrol tactics, obstacle navigation, emergency response, and community-oriented policing techniques designed to enhance safety and mobility in a variety of environments.

Bike patrol officers play an important role in connecting with the community, patrolling parks and trails, navigating crowded events, and responding quickly in areas less accessible to traditional patrol vehicles. Bicycle officers are also an important resource during large gatherings and demonstrations, helping ensure public safety while maintaining mobility and visibility during protests and other community events.

Thank you to all the instructors, partner agencies, and officers who participated in this valuable training opportunity and helped strengthen regional partnerships and public safety efforts throughout the Eastside.

We also want to thank the Redmond community for your patience and support throughout the week as training bicyclists traveled on local roadways and trails during practical training exercises. Your cooperation helped make this event a success.

As you head out for the Memorial Day holiday weekend, you may notice extra patrols as part of the Click It or Ticket campaign to remind drivers and passengers about the importance of wearing seat belts and the legal consequences, including fines, for not buckling up.

In addition, Redmond Police will be conducting DUI and distracted-driving emphasis patrols throughout the holiday weekend to help keep our roads safe.

Before you travel:
β€’ Always wear your seat belt
β€’ Put the phone away and stay focused on the road
β€’ Never drive impaired
β€’ Plan ahead for a sober ride home
β€’ Slow down and give yourself extra travel time

We want everyone to arrive safely and enjoy the holiday weekend responsibly.

The 2026 North American Motor Officers Association (NAMOA) training program wrapped up this week at Marymoor Park, bringing together motor officers from across the United States and Canada for several days of advanced training, collaboration, and skill development.

Throughout the week, officers participated in workshops, seminars, and hands-on motorcycle training focused on safety, tactical riding techniques, and professional development. Events like this help strengthen partnerships between agencies while improving the skills officers rely on every day to serve their communities safely and effectively.

We were proud to welcome these dedicated professionals to Redmond and appreciate their continued commitment to training and public safety.

Check out our video highlighting the event and the incredible skill displayed throughout the week.
