A WIN FOR RBPD!

Congratulations to Officer Adrian Murguia, who stepped into the ring on October 9th at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena and came out Victorious.

Adrian represented RBPD at the Next Rung: Battle for Mental Health charity boxing event, fighting for a great cause in support of first responder mental health.

A special shoutout to his coaches and teammate for their dedication, training, and support leading up to the big fight!

Congratulations, Adrian, on a well-earned victory and for representing RBPD with pride!

On October 7–9, 38 Sworn and Civilian supervisors from the Redondo Beach Police Department gathered in Lake Arrowhead for our 2026 Team Building Workshop.

Through meaningful discussions on leadership, accountability, communication and mentorship, our supervisors explored their roles in shaping the future of our Department.

Of course, we had some fun too! Team challenges and friendly competition helped strengthen relationships, build trust, and reinforce the value of teamwork.

A special thank you to the Officers who stepped into acting roles and took on additional responsibilities while we were away. We appreciate you.

Strong leadership is about the example we set, the relationships we build, and the leaders we inspire along the way.

Stronger Leaders. Stronger Teams. Stronger RBPD.

WHO’S A GOOD BOY?! WOUTER IS! K-9 Wouter recently assisted our SWAT team in Wilmington as officers worked to take a dangerous, wanted felon into custody.

The suspect was armed and barricaded inside a residence and refused to surrender. Wouter was deployed to assist officers and during apprehension, the suspect bit Wouter and tore off a portion of his ear. Despite the injury, Wouter was able to successfully help our officers, safely taking the suspect into custody. Wouter was then transported to ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital for treatment, and he’s now taking a much-needed break! ❤️‍🩹

Wishing our bestest boy a speedy recovery, and want him to get all the scratchies and treats! 🦴🐾

Shout out to our amazing Redondo Beach K9 Team for their incredible work!

Today, we gathered to mark a solemn and significant milestone: the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. Twenty-five years have passed since the world changed forever, yet the lessons of that day remain as vital as ever. We came together not just to remember the lives cut short—the 3,000 innocent souls lost in New York, Washington, D.C., and the fields of Pennsylvania—but to reaffirm our shared commitment to courage, unity, and resilience.

In the quiet moments of reflection, we in the City of Redondo Beach honored the heroes who gave everything: the first responders, the passengers who fought back, and the countless others whose kindness defined the human spirit in the face of tragedy. Their stories are the foundation of our collective memory, a reminder of what we stand for and what we must protect.

We are deeply grateful to the guests who joined us today. We also thank the esteemed individuals who played a part in today’s ceremony. Your presence was a powerful testament to the enduring bonds of community and the importance of never forgetting. Thank you for sharing in this moment of remembrance.

Let us never forget. 🇺🇸

Today we saw something truly amazing: people coming together for a cause and helping to save lives. We learned that it’s not just about beating records, or about being the “Michael Jordan” of blood drives; it’s about community. And we just want to say how proud we are. You all showed up, and helped us get to a grand total of 119 blood donations.

We couldn’t have done this without you, but this doesn’t mean it’s the end. We will be expecting another blood drive in 6 months, so stay tuned.

We’ve got work to do.
