Residential Street Rehabilitation Project, Cycle 2, Phase 5 (Job No. 40190)
Calmex Engineering, Inc. has been contracted by the City of Redondo Beach to perform the Residential Street Rehabilitation Project, Cycle 2, Phase 5. The work includes pavement rehabilitation, curb and gutter replacement, sidewalk and ADA ramp improvements, street lighting upgrades, and related drainage, signing, and striping work.
🚧 Upcoming Work (Week of August 24 through September 18, 2026)
📍North Redondo (Blossom, Huntington, Marshallfield, Harriman, Perkins, Rockefeller, Carnegie, Vanderbilt, Ruxton, & Firmona Alley):
• Concrete demolition, grading, and pouring through the week of August 24
• Asphalt cold plane (grinding) during the week of August 31
• Asphalt cap paving during the week of September 8
• Temporary striping after paving
📍 South Redondo (Maria Alley, Emerald, Irena, & Juanita):
• Sawcutting, concrete demolition, grading, and pouring through the weeks of August 31 and September 7
🪧 Public notification and “No Parking” postings will be provided at least 72 hours in advance of work that affects parking or access. All vehicles parked in the roadway during the posted times and dates will be towed. The contractor will continue concrete improvements by area and will return later for remaining roadway resurfacing where needed. Residents and properties will be re-notified before roadway work and when access is anticipated to be impacted.
🚛 Trash Pickup: The contractor will coordinate around trash pickup days to ensure all trash is collected on time.
⚠️ Traffic Impacts: There will be periodic temporary lane closures and redirection of pedestrian paths. In order to protect the workers and the fresh asphalt, temporary street closures may be utilized and alternate parking will be provided. Changeable Message Boards will be used to notify the public of upcoming work.
🕖 Work Hours: 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. Lane closures will generally be limited to 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.
