There's no degree, no education, no class that any person could possibly take that can prepare you to represent your Community. To try to understand, not be understood. Representing Redondo takes many skills and forms, the essence is being able to engage all stakeholders with diverse opinions in open conversation. The ability to listen, without forming or articulating a personal opinion, is one of
my strengths in forming partnerships and pathways to success. Taking the next step to represent the Community is about speaking up for the Community, while also fostering vibrant conversation between developers, public employees and the citizens that live in our City. My Community service has been immense: working with “R4”, who fought and defeated Measure B with limited time, funding and resources, close collaboration with “Save The Riviera” who successfully brought the Legado development within legal zoning, and co-leadership of “Rescue Our Waterfront” to pass new zoning in the Harbor that preserves the iconic Seaside Lagoon. Representing the Community is job #1, but finding financial solutions to the growing budget needs of the City is paramount. I believe I have the right mix of skills, experience, character and trust-worthiness to provide a win-win solution for District 1 and the City. Solving todays problems with yesterday solutions is not the answer. The solutions I bring come from experience that no other applicant can match.
