This past weekend, I had the pleasure of being part of a speaker panel at Cultura Fest, hosted by the Latina Coalition Silicon Valley. As a speaker, I had the opportunity to speak with other powerful Latina leaders in the Bay Area. Listening to their stories and the love from the audience was a reminder of the power women of color hold. Together, we can uplift each other and break systemic barriers that try to hold us back.

It was a pleasure to attend the JFY Scholars Celebration and recognize the hard work, dedication, and achievements of these outstanding students. This special event highlighted the incredible potential of our future leaders and the importance of investing in educational opportunities for our youth.

Congratulations to all of the scholars, and thank you to the families, mentors, and educators who support them every step of the way.

Places like the Event Center remind us how important shared community spaces are. Whether it’s celebrating culture, supporting local organizations, connecting families with resources, or creating memories together, these spaces help strengthen the heart of our county. Proud to have this important gathering place here in District 2. 💛

I was grateful for the opportunity to join fantastic panel last week at their annual Affordable Housing Month breakfast. I highlighted the work we’re doing to protect the county’s Vehicle License Fee funding from the state, which is essential to how we fund affordable housing. Thank you to HLC and everyone who has joined our fight to protect affordable housing and essential services in our county.
