GAME ONE IS IN THE BOOKS! ⚽️ 🏆

The first FIFA World Cup match in the Bay Area is behind us, but we know it’s not time to rest yet. We’ll be back on Tuesday as Austria 🇦🇹 and Jordan 🇯🇴 face off in Santa Clara.

A big thank you to our Valley Division Special Response Team (SRT) personnel who made the trip down to help us accomplish our mission of keeping everyone safe throughout the day! Another thank you to the fans and passerby’s that stopped to say hi to our people, take photos, and share some of that incredible team spirit!

This past Sunday, CHP Redwood City, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, and the State Bureau of Automotive Repair conducted a joint traffic safety operation.

Highway 35 and Highway 84 have always been a popular destination spot for visitors and riders. The intersection of Highway 35 and Highway 84 in Woodside, is commonly known as “Four Corners.”

The area is patrolled by the CHP Redwood City Area and the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. This year so far, we have had at least nine serious injury crashes between the two Highways. We also consistently receive complaints from the Woodside community so hopefully we can continue these efforts to ensure the safety for all travelers and residents.

We are honored to support the mission of inclusion, acceptance, and empowerment for Special Olympics athletes throughout our communities.

On May 20, 2026, at approximately 6:50 a.m., CHP Redwood City officers responded to a solo-vehicle crash on I-280 northbound, south of Page Mill Road involving an overturned crane truck.

Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle overturned on its right side, blocking the #3 and #4 lanes. The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Important reminder: impaired driving puts everyone on the roadway at risk. Always plan ahead for a safe ride home and never drive under the influence.
