General information

Hamilton Jackson Pocono Park and Open Space Commission was formed in 2005. We are developing a regional park that will have features for anyone. Our office is currently located in the Jackson Township Building, in Reeders PA. Programs and Projects are offered each month for the public. Other ideas/projects can be tailored for civic groups like Boy and Girl Scouts. We will look forward to our current phase of a driveway, parking lot, water retention area and the accessible walking trail being complete in the Spring of 2013 with the blacktopping of the trail and handicap parking. The park land is availble for the public to hike at this time. We have a Geocache on the land for you to enjoy. We do not want ATV and Hunters at this time. This is due to our nature hikes all year long. The ATV's are getting into our wetlands and spray painting trees for their own trails. Please come and enjoy our Park Land. There is 145 acres to enjoy. Call and schedule a nature hike just to see some of the features. We have a maximum elevation of 1062 ft.on our western border. Our lowest elevation is 870 ft. on the eastern border. There are several springs that feed a small stream. The wildlife is there to view, deer, squirrels, coyotes, bear, turkeys and many other birds too. Try a hike up 'Bolder Trail' for fun. If you can not climb the bolder then use the by-pass. This land really is a beautiful part of the Poconos.
