The Reedley Police Department is proud to recognize six Police Explorers who graduated today from the Tulare Police Department Explorer Academy, hosted in Tulare.
Our six Explorers previously completed the Reedley Police Department Explorer Academy, and this additional academy opportunity allowed them to further develop their skills, personal motivation, camaraderie, and grit. We are incredibly proud of each of our Explorer graduates and their commitment to learning, service, and personal growth. Job well done! Explorer Rodriguez, Explorer Covarrubias, Explorer Chagoya, Explorer Herrera, Explorer Ramirez.
Thank you to Chief Ediger, and Explorer Advisors Rosalinda Robledo, Michael Velasquez and Ashleigh Lopez for attending, and continuing to mentor our future police officers!

The mid-afternoon heat at the Guardian Village apartment complex was relentless, but the courtyard was alive with the sound of laughter and splashing water. What started as a Reedley Police Department "Building Bridges" community outreach event, quickly transformed into an all-out, good-natured water war between Reedley police officers and the neighborhood kids. We would like to thank the residents of the Guardian Village for opening up their home and allowing us to bring dinner to them while conversating about neighborhood issues and questions. Thank you to Reedley Mayor Matthew Tuttle for attending with us, to discuss City events and answering questions. Thank you to Sierra Kings Health Care District, and Executive Director Chinayera Black Hardaman for partnering with us once again on our outreach initiative, providing a healthy meal for the residents and water balloons and sq**rt guns for the kids. Great times were had by all!

Congratulations to Officers Christopher Avila and Coleman Escovedo for being recognized at the MADD Tri-Counties Law Enforcement Awards for their outstanding efforts in locating and arresting impaired drivers, helping keep our community safe.

Their dedication to traffic safety and commitment to protecting the public are a reflection of the professionalism and service they bring to our department every day.

Officers Avila and Escovedo were accompanied by Commander Terrance and Sergeant Garza as they received this well-deserved recognition.
