Work Anniversary, and this is a significant milestone. Randy Hoege is celebrating 42 years of dedicated service as a member of the Reedsburg Fire Department. Randy's career progression is notable, having started as a firefighter, advanced to Captain, and currently serves as Chief Engineer. His expertise in firefighting and apparatus repair is unparalleled, making him the go-to individual for resolving technical issues. The Hoege family has a rich legacy within our department, with Randy's father, Robert Hoege, serving from 1964 to 1997. Randy joined in June 1984, followed by his son, Josh Hoege, in 2005, and his grandson, Kaleb Hoege, in 2023. Four generations of the Hoege family have committed themselves to protecting our citizens, a truly remarkable achievement. Thank you Randy and all of the Hoege family.

Work Anniversary - Matt Gawronski, 20 years of dedicated service with the Reedsburg Fire Department this month. As Captain of Engine 1, Matt plays a crucial role in training and directing his crew, ensuring a prompt and effective response to structure fires in the city. This position demands exceptional leadership and expertise, and Matt has consistently demonstrated these qualities. Outside of his professional commitments, Matt enjoys working on cars and fishing. We extend our sincerest gratitude to Matt for his tireless contributions.

Congratulations are extended to Bristol Gawronski and Heriberto Ruiz. Last night, following drill exercises, Chief Craig Douglas presented Bristol and Heriberto with their helmet shields, marking the completion of their 12- month probationary period. These two exceptional individuals have consistently demonstrated dedication, a willingness to learn, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to responding to emergency calls. Bristol and Heriberto have successfully completed their Entry Level Firefighter and Firefighter 1 certifications. We express our gratitude to these gentlemen and encourage them to continue their outstanding work.

Getting all 34 of us in one photo is nearly impossible… trust us, we’ve tried 😄

Our team consists of:
• 1 physician
• 19 critical care paramedics
• 1 paramedic
• 10 advanced EMTs
• 3 EMTs
• and Walter, our very important therapy dog 🐾

We are made up of 13 full-time and 21 part-time employees, with 5–6 crew members scheduled around the clock to serve our community 24/7.

Different backgrounds. Different experiences. One team. 💙🚑
