Announcement from the Oregon Dept. of Land Conservation and Development:
Curry and Douglas County residents, business owners, community organizations, and other interested parties are invited to participate in the development of coastal natural hazards resilience action plans for both Curry and Douglas County.
Natural hazards such as tsunami, earthquake, coastal flooding, erosion, landslides, wildfire, extreme weather, drought, sea level rise, climate change, and other environmental challenges can affect our communities, economy, infrastructure, and natural resources. These local action plans are being developed to help Curry and Douglas County better prepare for, respond to, and recover from these challenges while protecting people, places, and resources that make our communities unique.
As part of this effort, we are seeking input from community members about what matters most, what concerns you have for the future, and what actions could help strengthen community resilience across Curry and Douglas Counties.
Your participation is important. Local residents have valuable knowledge about community needs, strengths, vulnerabilities, and opportunities that cannot be gathered from maps, reports, or technical studies alone. Input from community members help identify priority assets, populations, services, infrastructure, natural resources, and community values that should be considered in the plan. It will also help inform future resilience strategies and projects.
We invite you to participate in one or more of the following ways:
Attend a Community Meeting
Community members are invited to attend an upcoming public meeting to learn more about the planning process, share perspectives, discuss local challenges and opportunities, and provide feedback on potential resilience actions and projects.

The meetings are open to all members of the public, and no technical expertise is required. Your perspective is valuable! Stay tuned for additional opportunities to participate in local workshops and virtual seminars, and feel free to provide feedback through the survey below.

The questionnaire asks about community priorities, concerns, local strengths, and ideas for improving resilience in Curry and Douglas Counties. Responses will help inform the planning process and guide discussion during upcoming community meetings.
