Blumfield Reese Water Authority Board Meetings are the third Monday of the month at 7:00pm The City of Saginaw does all of the water quality parameter and bacteriological testing for the BRWA.

The Blumfield Reese Water Authority (BRWA) purchases finished water from the City of Saginaw as a wholesale customer. Saginaw purchases raw water, which comes from set of intake pipes in Lake Huron near Whitestone Point, from the Saginaw-Midland Municipal Water Supply Corporation. The City of Saginaw treats the raw water at its treatment plant and distributes it to their wholesale customers. It ta

kes approximately one to two weeks for the water to travel from the Lake Huron intake to your faucet. The BRWA does water sampling for disinfectant by-products on a quarterly basis and tests for Lead & Copper annually. The City of Saginaw also maintains the pump station which feeds the BRWA system. The BRWA has 69.56 miles of water main ranging in size from 6 inch to 12 inch, and has 299 water main valves and 458 hydrant valves and 458 hydrants in its water distribution system. The BRWA also has one elevated storage tank, a 100,000 gallon tank located at our office building on the west side of Reese. The BRWA provides potable water to the Village of Reese, Richville and parts of Blumfield, Denmark & Gilford Townships and performs all of the system maintenance. The BRWA employs a State of Michigan licensed Waterworks System Operator who is responsible for regulatory compliance and maintains the water distribution system.
