Good morning, Refugio,

Please see the latest announcement below!

Community awareness post‼️

PLEASE SHARE with friends and family so people would know about me!

Hello people of Refugio, TEXAS!

My name is Alexandra and I am University student from Estonia🇪🇪.
I am going door to door helping families with their education📚

I sell educational books & apps with Southwestern Advantage from little babies all the way through high school and Leadership program for young people.

This is my 2nd summer working with the company and I am very very happy to say I have been able to help over 150 families with educational resources.

I DO NOT REPRESENT OR AM AFFILIATED with any of the schools.
It is my summer internship and this is the way that I get to pay my way through school.

I sell:
1) Study guides that help parents to help kids with Math & other subjects.
2) Study guides that help children save time doing homework & tests.
3) Fun and educational kids books from babies till end of elementary school to give them a head start for preschool and kindergarten.
4) Advanced learning materials that help your child excel in AP classes and SAT and ACT.
5) Leadership skills & development program.

I drive a dark grey Kia Soul, so if you see that, it is probably me.

When I knock on your door, then know that I have an accent, please do not be intimidated by that. 😉

Excited to meet everyone!
See you at your door 😊

Memorial Day weekend is recognized as the unofficial kickoff to summer, and it is important for drivers to remember that our roads will be busier than usual. The Refugio Police Department will have officers out working to keep our roads safe.

So take a little extra time when driving, obey traffic laws and be mindful of others on the road. Remember to buckle up, and don't drink and drive, call a friend instead.

Have a safe and Happy Memorial Day—and every day.

We’ve made it through Spring Break!!!

Whether you were in one of the nearly 19,000 vehicles passing through our town every day or just one of our local citizens enjoying the beautiful weather, our officers have been out working diligently focusing enforcement efforts to ensure public safety. All with limited resources and being understaffed.

As a result of the dedicated efforts from officers, the following arrests and enforcements have been made for the past 9 days (March 10-19, 2025):

• traffic stop on Alamo Street which resulted in the arrest of a male driver and female passenger for money laundering after they were discovered to be smuggling a large amount of European currency (euros) equivalent to $37, 424 US dollars.

• Officers conducted an undercover V**e Sting Operation in Refugio County in conjunction with Refugio County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Comptrollers Agents. More than 16 establishments were targeted. Two individuals were arrested.

• traffic stop on an 18-wheeler for parking on the turning lane which resulted in a probable cause search that led to the discovery of more than 150 fraudulent credit/debit cards, numerous skimmer devices, computer equipment and approximately 60 grams of methamphetamine.

• traffic stop at the 600 North Alamo Street which resulted in a vehicle pursuit down Alamo Street and ended up on the 100 block of West Roca Street with the driver bailing out and absconding. Suspect was eventually identified pending arrest warrants.

9 day recap:
• Calls for service: 35
• Total traffic stops: 293
• Total arrests: 15
• 1 reported stolen vehicle. Recovered 2 days later
• 3 accidents

Our brave law enforcement officers are unsung heroes, standing as the guardians of peace and security to everyone they serve. OUTSTANDING JOB TO EVERYONE!!!!
