The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for portions of...
Bulloch County in southeastern Georgia...
Candler County in southeastern Georgia...
Evans County in southeastern Georgia...
Jenkins County in southeastern Georgia...
Tattnall County in southeastern Georgia...

* Until 645 PM EDT.

* At 546 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from
near Herndon to 8 miles west of Gordonia Altamaha State Park,
moving east at 15 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and small hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Reidsville, Metter, Butts, Portal, Collins, Cobbtown, Pulaski,
Manassas, Aline and Gordonia Altamaha State Park.

This includes I-16 between mile markers 96 and 111.
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds.

A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT TATTNALL AND LONG COUNTIES UNTIL 630 PM EDT
Special Weather Statement issued July 20 at 5:58PM EDT by NWS Charleston SC
At 558 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong
thunderstorms extending from 12 miles south of Reidsville to 17 miles
south of Ludowici, moving north at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Five Points, Tison, Noble, Reidsville, Glennville, Gordonia
Altamaha State Park, Lynn, Mendes, Beards Creek and Donald.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

At 625 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 5
miles southwest of Glennville, moving west at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Glennville, Five Points, Tison, Lynn and Altamaha.

A tropical disturbance over southern Texas has been designated Potential Tropical Cyclone #1 by the National Hurricane Center. It will have a brief window to develop into a tropical depression or low-end tropical storm today or tomorrow before moving inland over Louisiana. Regardless of development, heavy rainfall from this system is expected in Georgia on Thursday and Friday.
Widespread showers and thunderstorms will continue across much of Georgia today and tomorrow. Flooding and/or widespread severe weather is not anticipated through tomorrow. After a brief break on Thursday morning, showers and thunderstorms associated with the remnants of PTC #1 will move into Georgia by early Thursday afternoon. Heavy rainfall could produce isolated flash flooding where the axis of heaviest precipitation sets up, which currently looks to be over middle Georgia. A shift farther north or south would transfer where the higher rainfall amounts occur.
The Weather Prediction Center has much of Georgia in a Slight Risk (level 2 of 4) for excessive rainfall on Thursday, with a small portion of West-Central Georgia in a Moderate Risk (level 3 of 4). This Moderate Risk could be expanded farther into Georgia if confidence increases for higher rainfall amounts. The Storm Prediction Center has much of Georgia in a Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5) for severe weather on Thursday, which could also be upgraded if confidence increases for damaging winds and/or isolated tornadoes.
Most of Georgia should receive 2 to 4 inches of rainfall in total today through Friday. Where the axis of heaviest precipitation sets up, some areas could receive 4 to 6 inches of rainfall or more, mostly on Thursday and Friday. Please continue to monitor forecast updates from your local National Weather Service office and reliable media outlets throughout the week.

The burn ban for Tattnall County has been lifted, this does not mean you can go out and burn recklessly and set yours's and your neighbors property on fire. Only YOU can prevent forest fires.

BURN BAN IS IN EFFECT FOR TATTNALL COUNTY. If you are thinking about burning anything, please remove those thoughts from you head. If you decide to burn, know that your neighbors and passerby's will snitch on you and call 911. If the Fire Department is dispatched for any burning, the possibility of a fine is emanate. PLEASE DON"T BURN.
