The burn ban for Tattnall County has been lifted, this does not mean you can go out and burn recklessly and set yours's and your neighbors property on fire. Only YOU can prevent forest fires.

BURN BAN IS IN EFFECT FOR TATTNALL COUNTY. If you are thinking about burning anything, please remove those thoughts from you head. If you decide to burn, know that your neighbors and passerby's will snitch on you and call 911. If the Fire Department is dispatched for any burning, the possibility of a fine is emanate. PLEASE DON"T BURN.

PROHIBICIÓN DE QUEMAS EN EL CONDADO DE TATTNALL. Si está pensando en quemar algo, por favor, descarte esa idea. Si decide quemar, tenga en cuenta que sus vecinos y transeúntes lo delatarán y llamarán al 911. Si se envía al Departamento de Bomberos por una quema, existe la posibilidad de una multa. POR FAVOR, NO QUEME.

⚠️Travel Advisory⚠️

Troopers from Post 22 and Post 23, along with GSP Aviation, are assisting Brantley County with a large wildfire in the Atkinson Community.

The fire is currently impacting areas on both the north and south sides of GA 520 / U.S. 82, as well as east and west of GA 110.

The following road closures are in effect throughout the evening and until at least 8:00 AM, or until further notice:

* GA 520 / U.S. 82 at Post Road
* GA 520 / U.S. 82 at GA 23 / U.S. 301
* GA 110 at GA 32

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
