It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that our office shares in the loss of not only a former co-worker but also a truly dear friend, Betsy Brame.
Betsy began her career with Rockingham County Government in 2010 and quickly became a valued member of the County Government team. In 2015, she stepped into her role within Economic Development, where she became an instrumental force—bringing passion, dedication, and a vibrant spirit that left a lasting impact on everyone she worked with. Betsy had a way of lighting up a room and making those around her feel valued, supported, and cared for. She was not just a colleague, but someone who brought joy, laughter, and warmth into our workplace every single day.
When Betsy retired a little over a year ago, we felt the loss of her presence in the office, but we were also so very happy for our friend as she began an exciting new chapter in her life. Even in retirement, her impact and the relationships she built here have never been forgotten.
This is a tremendous loss for all who had the privilege of knowing her. Betsy’s vibrant personality, kind heart, and genuine spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathies are with Betsy’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
