Today Northland Community Schools was notified of law enforcement activity in the area of the school, nothing was at the school, only in the area. As a precaution, we placed the school in Secure. This means all doors were locked, no students went outside, and classes continued as normal. The Secure status lasted 20 minutes. All school operations have then returned to normal.

What a wonderful start to the school year! Our preschool and elementary students have officially begun their school year, and we loved seeing all the smiling faces, excited students, and happy reunions with friends and teachers. 📚✏️

New state aid covers part of the operating levy for school districts that have lots of cabins. Some districts say they'll offset the levy if voters approve it, meaning more money for the school, while taxes stay the same or go down.

Welcome to a brand-new school year, elementary & preschool families!

Walking through our halls this week, you can feel the energy and excitement—our staff is completely refreshed and can't wait to see your children's smiling faces in their classrooms!

I want to take a moment to celebrate our extraordinary teachers. Last year, they poured their hearts into LETRS training to bring the absolute best reading instruction to our classrooms. Seeing our students grow into confident, joyful readers has been one of our proudest achievements, and that progress is going to keep rolling this year.

We truly believe that it takes a village. We are so eager to partner with you—our parents and guardians—to support your kids every step of the way. You are such a vital part of our school family, and when we work together, our students can accomplish anything.

Our doors (and hearts!) are wide open. Let’s make this an unforgettable year together!

We are so proud of two of our talented students who were recognized at the State Fair!

Willow won a BLUE RIBBON (!!!!!!) in Mixed Media for her painting: “Remi’s Heritage.”
Evie received an Honorable Mention for her oil painting: “Cossack Mamay.”
