The members of Re*****on Vol. Fire and Rescue is sad to announce the passing of Past Fire Chief Kevin Moore. Chief Moore was a member of the department for most of his life and was a mentor to a lot of members. Chief Moore will be laid to rest Saturday, September 12th. Please keep his family in in your thoughts.

Well, Fauquier Times Readers’ Choice just made it official… even though those of us in Re*****on already knew.

A HUGE congratulations to Zach Woodward with Re*****on Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department for being voted Best EMT!

We may be a little biased, but Zach’s dedication, hard work, and commitment to taking care of our community have never gone unnoticed around here. Now everyone else knows what Re*****on already did — we’ve got one of the best!

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Life Member “Little” George Nicholson. George was a dedicated member of our department for many years and was known for his love of driving the ambulance. The viewing for George will be this Thursday at Founds and Son Funeral home from 1800-2000. Funeral services will be at 1200 on Friday, with a reception to follow at the fire house.

This evening Wagon 2, Rescue 2, and Tanker 2 responded for a report of smoke in a home in the area of Knights Ct. While en-route the call was upgraded to a Structure Fire. Chief 1 arrived on scene and took command. Units operated on scene for over an hour.

A long standing tradition in the volunteer fire service are the annual carnivals and parades. While we no long have our annual carnival, we love showing up to support Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department’s annual parade and carnival! Chief 2, Wagon 2, Tanker 2, and Rescue 2 not only made an appearance, but showed station pride!

Tonight members of the department and DFREM wished Tech II Weeks a happy retirement. Tech II Weeks was assigned to Re*****on for most of his career and had a profound impact on our members and the citizens of Fauquier County. We wish him the best in retirement and he will always have a home in Re*****on!

🚒 Throw-Way-Back to 1996! 🚒

A special thank you to Dawn Ashby for sharing this piece of Re*****on Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department history.

Pictured are retired RVFRD Fire Chiefs Wally Rich and Will Ashby, along with Life Member M.L. Fraz.

At the time this video was recorded, the engine was only two years old. It looked sharp, sounded great, and proudly served the citizens of Re*****on and the surrounding community. Even more impressive, this same engine continues to serve today with the Fauquier County Fire Rescue System Training Divison.
