🗳️ Join WashoeDEMS for our Monthly Meeting: Election Protection on Wednesday, Sept. 30th. Checkin at 5:30 PM and the we’ll begin at 6 PM

As we prepare for the upcoming General Election on November 3rd, join us for an important conversation about how we can help protect our elections and ensure every eligible voter can participate with confidence.

We’re excited to welcome Andrew MacDonald, Registrar of Voters with the Washoe County Registrar’s Office, and Paul Nelson from RTC. They’ll share information about election administration, election protection efforts, what to expect this November, and the ballot advisory question in the upcoming election regarding electric vehicle registration fees.

This is a great opportunity to learn, ask questions, and get prepared to be part of the election protection effort here in Washoe County.

More bad news about the Trump-Lombardo economy, and Latino advocacy groups are asking the courts to weigh in on Trump’s threats to send ICE to the polls in November. Find out more in this week’s roundup!

Normally, gas prices fall at the end of the summer as people travel less, but under the Trump-Lombardo economy, gas prices hit a new high of $5.33/gallon and $6.55/gallon for diesel. We only have Trump’s incompetent handling of the war with Iran to blame.

A group of Latino advocacy organizations are challenging the Trump administration’s plan to send ICE to polling locations on Election Day. The administration isn’t trying to make our polls safer; they’re trying to make eligible voters—especially Latino and Hispanic voters—too scared to vote. Remember, you can vote early starting October 17th.

Last week, Donald Trump offered voters $5,000 to vote Republican in November. Not only is it illegal to offer cash incentives to vote a certain way, $5,000 would still not reimburse Nevadans for what the Trump-Lombardo economy has cost. If he cared about voters, he would end the war with Iran, stop the tariffs, and repeal the Big Beautiful Bill. It’s time for us to flip Congress and elect Aaron Ford as our next governor.

Rural Washoe County residents already face some of the longest drives to access maternity care in the country, along with states like Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Wyoming. This is only getting worse with the health care cuts from the One Big Beautiful Bill. That’s why we need to flip Congress and repeal these cuts that are devastating rural health care.
