Idlewild Pond is officially stocked and ready for Free Fishing Day tomorrow!🎣

Join City of Reno Park Rangers and the Nevada Department of Wildlife at Idlewild Pond from 8 a.m. to noon tomorrow (Saturday, 6/13) for a morning of free family fishing and a chance to learn a few tips along the way.

Whether you’re a longtime angler or figuring out which end of the rod does what, this is a great chance to get outside and cast a line. No fishing license is required, no experience is necessary, and the event is fun for all ages! Free fishing poles will also be given out while supplies last.

June 13 is Nevada’s annual Free Fishing Day, which means anyone can fish Nevada’s waters without purchasing a fishing license. The day also coincides with Nevada State Parks’ Adventure Day, which offers free admission to all Nevada state parks, except those requiring day-use reservations.

Every Dungeons & Dragons campaign starts the same way:
a brave Paladin, a clever Rogue, a powerful Sorcerer, and one Bard making choices that concern the entire party. 🎲🏰⚔🏹🛡

D20 Saturdays is a new Parks program for ages 8–13 where kids create their own characters, forge alliances with fellow adventurers, and dive into epic quests together.

Whether they’re solving mysteries, battling monsters, or negotiating with a suspicious goblin merchant, players will build creativity, teamwork, and storytelling skills while learning that every great adventure starts with a roll of the dice.
