Plan on wind gusts 30-40 mph with humidity as low as 10-15% across the warning area with rapid fire growth potential. Avoid activities that may cause a spark!

A Lake Wind Advisory has been issued for Lake Tahoe, Pyramid Lake, Eagle Lake, Honey Lake, Lake Davis, Frenchman Lake, Stampede Reservoir, Donner Lake, Prosser and Boca Reservoirs, Washoe Lake, and Topaz Lake from Tuesday 11 AM to 8 PM. Wind gusts up to 35 mph expected with wave heights of up to 3 feet. Consider postponing boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind.

‼️Fire Weather Watch‼️Winds increase late Tuesday morning with gusts 30-40 mph expected through Tuesday evening. These winds combined with low afternoon humidity of 10-15% will likely lead to critical fire weather conditions. Much of northeast CA and northwest NV also received little to no rain last Friday, resulting in dry vegetation which could carry fire.

Showers and storms arrive Thursday and carry into Friday, bringing us into a wet, breezy start to the weekend. Saturday, the showers move to our east, but leave behind cooler temperatures for the weekend. Afternoon breezes will bring gusts of 10-15 mph Saturday through Monday, after which we will see a return of showers for the early to mid-week time frame.
