Last week, Reno and Sparks firefighters encountered erratic fire behavior on the Hawk fire. The City Reno had 11 fire engines committed to the Hawk fire as well as kept fire stations staffed to respond to other emergencies.

Yesterday was a special day for the Reno Fire Department. 15 new recruits completed their 19 week fire academy. Today some of them start their first shift working on a fire engine. Best of luck on probation we appreciate all the hard work.

FIRE WATCH
15 Reno firefighters graduated from their academy on Friday, and some will even be joining the line of duty as soon as Saturday morning. We got a chance to speak with some of the graduates, and they shared how excited they are to get to work. Aimee Arellano reports.

E12 Operator POV 🎥

This past Saturday, before RFD resources were requested to assist with the the Reno Firefighters assigned to E12 extinguished a fire in a camper trailer in south Reno. The video shows the Operator of E12 quickly getting his firefighters water to extinguish the flames. Ultimately protecting nearby vehicles and homes.
