Please join us in congratulating Assistant Chief James Condo on his recent promotion.

Assistant Chief Condo brings more than 38 years of law enforcement experience and dedication to the Town of East Greenbush and the residents of Rensselaer County. He began his career in 1988 with the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office as a road patrol deputy before joining the East Greenbush Police Department in 1991 as a patrol officer.

Throughout his career with EGPD, Assistant Chief Condo has served in numerous important roles including Field Training Officer, Training Coordinator, Accreditation Manager, Fleet Manager, and liaison to several regional law enforcement committees and programs. His leadership and commitment played a major role in the department achieving accreditation status in 2017, and he continues to help guide and mentor generations of officers and dispatchers.

Assistant Chief Condo’s professionalism, knowledge, and dedication to public service have made a lasting impact on this department and the community we serve. Congratulations Assistant Chief Condo, and thank you for your continued service to the Town of East Greenbush.

⚠️ TRAFFIC ADVISORY ⚠️

Please be advised that there will be increased traffic and possible delays in the area of Troy Road (Route 4) and Third Avenue (Route 915E) on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, due to the Robert Bornt Memorial Dedication Ceremony being held at the NYS DOT facility.

The ceremony will take place from approximately 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, and motorists can expect heavier-than-normal traffic in the surrounding area during that time.

Residents and commuters are encouraged to plan ahead, allow for extra travel time, and consider using alternate routes if possible.

This notification is being shared in advance so community members can adjust schedules and travel plans accordingly.

This past weekend, members of the East Greenbush Police Department were honored to participate in several Memorial Day parades and ceremonies throughout local communities.

As we gathered with residents, veterans, and local organizations, we took time to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support these events and to all who helped make the ceremonies meaningful and memorable. We are proud to stand alongside our community in recognizing the true meaning of Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

On May 9th, members of the East Greenbush Police Department were recognized during the 1st Annual East Greenbush Police Awards Ceremony. During this luncheon, officers and staff were honored for their dedication, professionalism, and service to our community, with awards recognizing achievements dating back to 2019 when Chief Rudzinski took office.

Awards presented included:

• Command Recognition
• Meritorious Police Service Award
• Distinguished Service Award
• Career Recognition

These awards represent the outstanding commitment, courage, and professionalism displayed by the men and women of our department each and every day. Whether through life-saving actions, exemplary service, or years of dedicated commitment to the community, each recipient embodies the values and mission of the East Greenbush Police Department.

This morning, members of the East Greenbush Police took part in the 2026 Special Olympics Torch Run alongside our law enforcement partners from Rensselaer County Sheriffs, Troy Police Department, and the Town of Schodack Police Department. The run began at the East Greenbush Police Department and concluded at Albany City Hall.

Thank you to all the runners that came out to support these amazing athletes!
