VFW Post 1279 Veterans organization. The purpose of this corporation shall be fraternal, patriotic, historical, charitable, and educational.

The VFW traces its roots back to 1899 when veterans of the Spanish-American War (1898) and the Philippine lnsurrection (1899-1902) founded local organizations to secure rights and benefits for their service. The VFW will strive to:

preserve and strengthen comradeship among it's members;
assist worthy comrades;
perpetuate the memory, and history of our dead;
assist their widows and orphans;
maint

ain true allegiance to the United States of America, and fidelity to its Constitution, and laws;
foster true patriotism;
maintain, and extend the institutions of American freedom;
and to preserve and defend the United States of America from all enemies foreign and domestic.
