Saturday, June 6th is ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐๐ก ๐๐๐๐ช๐ง๐ ๐๐ค๐ช๐ง ๐๐ค๐๐ ๐ฟ๐๐ฎ, focusing on road safety and preventing debris-related crashes.
Yesterday, our officers partnered with King County Transfer Station in efforts to look for unsecured or improperly secured loads, provide education, and issue warnings or citations when necessary.
Remember, securing your load isnโt just about following the law - it helps keep everyone safe on the road, and it's something we'll focus on every day, not just today or during this month's campaign.
Donโt Make These Mistakes:
โBut Iโm just going a short way and I wonโt be driving fast.โ - The law is clear - every vehicle carrying a load while traveling on any publicly maintained road must have a secured load.
โBut what Iโm hauling is so heavy it couldnโt possibly fall out.โ - Each year, heavy items such as large tires, appliances, and large pieces of wood fall from vehicles and end up on our roadways creating hazards for motorists.
