Training for the moments that matter.

Being prepared for the unexpected is part of serving and protecting a community. When an emergency unfolds, the training an officer carries with them can make a critical difference.

That’s why every Republic Police officer maintains Basic Life Support certification, with training in CPR, AED use, choking relief, and life-threatening bleeding control.

Pictured is an Officer completing her hands-on skills evaluation with Officer King, the Department’s BLS instructor, who helps ensure every officer maintains these critical lifesaving skills.

We can’t predict what the next call will bring, but we can make sure our officers are ready for it.

Last month, Republic Police Department officers participated in Intruder Response Training as part of our ongoing commitment to preparedness, professional development, and public safety.

Training opportunities like these allow officers to practice response strategies, strengthen communication, and reinforce critical decision-making skills in realistic scenarios. We are grateful for our partnerships with Republic School District and their School Resource Officers, whose collaboration helps make this important training possible. Working together helps strengthen coordination, improve preparedness, and support the safety of students, staff, and the broader community.

Continuous training helps ensure our officers are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to serve and protect the Republic community.

Happy First Day of School, Republic Tigers!

As students head back to the classroom, the Republic Police Department wishes everyone a safe and successful school year.

Drivers, remember that school is back in session. Slow down in school zones, watch for students at crosswalks and bus stops, and always stop for school buses when their red lights are flashing and stop sign (stop arm) is extended.

To all of our students, teachers, staff, and families: have a great first day and an even better school year.

Go Tigers!

School Zone Safety Tips 🏫🚸

When school is in session, extra caution behind the wheel can help keep students, crossing guards, and school staff safe. Slow down and follow posted school zone speed limits, stay alert for children who may cross unexpectedly, and avoid distractions while driving. Be especially mindful around school buses and never pass a bus when its stop arm is extended and red lights are flashing.

A few simple precautions can make a big difference.
Slow down, stay alert, and help keep our school zones safe! 🚔✅
