** LARGE BIRD MIGRATION TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY **
Millions of birds will take advantage of the mild and calm conditions tonight across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast to take flight and migrate to the north. Did you know some birds migrate over thousands of miles and even come from different countries and continents (such as South America)?
HOW CAN YOU HELP? You can help migrating birds by turning off unnecessary outdoor lights overnight, especially bright floodlights and decorative lighting, which can confuse and disorient birds during flight. Keeping pets indoors, avoiding loud disturbances, and making windows more visible with blinds or decals can also help reduce bird collisions.
