As we leave the Winter Storm season in the past, Hurricane Season is right around the corner. With that in mind, The City of Revere now has an easy way to alert our residents to potential flooding events.

The City of Revere has installed two sensors to monitor flooding and alert residents about flood events.

Go to https://dashboard.hohonu.io/map-page and zoom in to Revere.

Click on the map markers to see real-time data from the flood sensors on Pearl Ave and Mills Ave.

Sign up for alerts to receive a text as soon as a sensor detects flooding.

Be Informed! Be Prepared!

Earlier this week, some of our members participated in Flashover Simulation training provided by the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy. Flashover is when all combustible materials in a room ignite simultaneously, making the space unsurvivable.

The day began with classroom instruction on the characteristics of flashover, followed by live fire evolutions. This training will help our members recognize the warning signs of Flashover in order escape a burning room before it occurs.
