📅 Application Period: August 21 – September 21, 2026
💰 Salary: $27.59–$30.47/hour DOE

🚨 DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER — STARTING TONIGHT! 🚨

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is joining law enforcement agencies across Idaho in a statewide Labor Day impaired-driving mobilization starting tonight, August 19, through September 7, 2026.

During this enforcement period, our deputies will be increasing patrols and focusing on identifying drivers who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Impaired driving can turn a celebration into a tragedy in a matter of seconds. This Labor Day, make the right choice:

🍺 If you drink, DON’T DRIVE.
đźš— Plan a sober ride.
📱 Call a friend, use a rideshare, or find a designated driver.
⚠️ Never get behind the wheel impaired.

See a driver you believe may be impaired? Call 911. Your quick call could help our deputies safely locate the driver and get them off the roadway before they hurt themselves or someone else.

Let’s work together to keep Madison County and Idaho roads safe. Drive sober. Get home safely. Every time. 🚔

🚨 ROAD CLOSURE & FLOODING ALERT – S SNAKE RIVER RD 🚨

Active flooding and road washouts are occurring along S Snake River Road through Heise and the Greater Kelly Canyon area following the recent fire.

The burned and unstable ground has increased the risk of washouts, flooding, and land movement. S Snake River Road will be closed before Cress Creek on our side and will extend into the Heise/Jefferson area.

⚠️ Please avoid the area and use alternate routes.
⚠️ Never attempt to drive or walk through floodwater.
⚠️ Conditions can change quickly—be prepared to leave the area if directed by emergency personnel.

Please use extreme caution and follow all road closure signs and directions from emergency personnel.

These closures are in place for your safety.

Yesterday, members of the Upper Valley SRT had the opportunity to conduct active shooter training alongside BYU-Idaho Campus Security Officers.

Training together with our campus partners helps strengthen communication, coordination, and our ability to respond effectively when seconds matter. We appreciate BYU-Idaho for allowing us to use portions of campus and providing a realistic training environment.

A big thank you to RTS Tactical Shields for recently donating two shields to the Upper Valley SRT. Your support helps us improve our equipment and preparedness as we work to better serve and protect our communities.
