Celebrating Unity, Diversity & Culture at The Great New York State Fair! 🎉

Visiting the Great New York State Fair was an incredible experience and a lot of fun for our chapter performers and members!

Yesterday, Asian American communities from the Capital Region came together at the Asian Village - New York State Fair to showcase the rich cultural heritage, unity, and diversity of our AAPI communities.

A heartfelt thank you to all our amazing volunteers and performers who dedicated their time, talent, and energy to leading this wonderful initiative. Your passion and commitment help bring our communities together and create opportunities to celebrate and share our diverse cultures.

We are proud to be part of a community that celebrates culture, inclusion, unity, and diversity. ❤️

June 30th 2026 9:50AM Update From Adam Alharbi regarding Harbe: We are devastated to share that he has been found deceased. Thank you to everyone who helped in the search.

June 30th 2026 8:37AM Update: The search is over at this time. All crews are being released at this time except for investigators and other law-enforcement agencies.

June 29 2026 12:30PM Update: the correct name of the child is now Harbe Nagi 

June 29 2026 6:30AM Update: Firefighters, and rescue personnel continue the search this morning as the child is still missing. 

MISSING CHILD ALERT – MENANDS, NY

The Albany County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 7-year-old Harib Nagi, who was reported missing on Sunday, June 28, 2026.

Harbe has autism, is non-verbal, and may be in need of medical attention. He was last seen at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Park Drive in the Village of Menands, Albany County.

He was last seen wearing a light-colored T-shirt, dark pants, and no shoes.

Anyone who sees Aharib or has information about his whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately or contact the Albany County Sheriff’s Office at (518) 765-5979.

Please share this alert to help bring Harbe home safely.

It was a great turnout this evening for the State of the State presentation to the capital region’s Asian American Community at the Hindu Cultural Center in Albany.

Our sincere thanks to Gaurav Vasisht, Executive Director & CEO, New York State Insurance Fund and Chair of NYS Asian American and Pacific Islander Commission for presenting and answering the questions. Also, thanks to Sibu Nair, Director of Asian American Affairs for Governor Hochul for working with us in organizing this engaging event.
