πŸ“šπŸŒŸ Let's Talk Libraries in our Community πŸŒŸπŸ“š

Hey everyone,

I want to clear something up: I don't hate libraries – in fact, I love them! As a firm believer in the power of books and education, I understand the immense value that libraries bring to our communities. They're not just buildings filled with books; they're hubs of learning, exploration, and connection.

Smart people make smarter choices, and libraries play a crucial role in fostering that intellect and curiosity. But here's the thing – maintaining these vital institutions requires funding. When budget shortfalls force tough decisions like potential library closures or increased taxes to keep libraries open, it's essential to empower the community.

That's why I believe these decisions should ultimately be in the hands of the voters. It's your access to libraries and your dollars. Your voice matters, and you deserve to have a say in issues that directly impact our neighborhoods and your quality of life.

If you're curious about county issues or want to learn more about how we can support our libraries and other community resources, I'm here to chat. Feel free to call or email me anytime – let's have a conversation!

I want to express my gratitude to all of you who have shown your support thus far. It means the world to me. As I run for Lincoln County Commissioner District 3, I'm asking for your vote so that together, we can ensure our community thrives and that our libraries remain vibrant, accessible spaces for generations to come.

I will always stand on the side of YOU deciding what is best for where YOU live.

Thank you for your support, and let's keep moving forward together! πŸ—³οΈπŸ“š πŸŒŸπŸ™Œ

Dear Fellow Lincoln County Residents,

As your current County Commissioner for District 3, I've had the privilege of serving our community and working tirelessly to address the challenges we face.

One crucial issue that continues to demand our attention is the maintenance of our county roads. Our roads are the lifelines of our communities, connecting us to schools, workplaces, and essential services. However, as many of you are aware, maintaining these roads comes with significant financial burdens, and inflation has made road maintenance even more expensive.

Lincoln County must find sustainable funding solutions to address our road maintenance needs effectively. Whether it's repairing potholes, repaving worn-out surfaces, or improving road safety measures, we cannot afford to neglect this vital aspect of our infrastructure.

But here's the thing: finding these solutions requires the collective effort of our entire community. That's why I urge all Lincoln County residents to actively engage in the process. Your input, insights, and perspectives are invaluable as we navigate the complexities of funding allocation and prioritization.

Together, we can ensure that our county's road maintenance efforts are transparent, accountable, and reflective of the needs and priorities of our community. By staying informed and involved, we can chart a course towards a more resilient and prosperous Lincoln County for generations to come.

As always, I invite you to call me at 406-249-8909 or email me at [email protected] with questions or comments about this issue, or any other concerns you may have.

So let's roll up our sleeves, Lincoln County! Together, we can pave the way to a brighter future.

With gratitude and determination,
Josh Letcher

Lincoln County Residents,

Friends, in these challenging times, we need strong leaders with experience and dedication more than ever. As we navigate the complexities of today's world, it's crucial to remember: As your County Commissioner, I am not a king. I'm a steward of our community, bound by the laws set forth in the Montana Code Annotated (MCA) and committed to serving the people of Lincoln County with integrity.

So, what exactly does that entail?

πŸ›οΈ Responsible budgeting: In an era of uncertainty, ensuring our tax dollars are allocated wisely is paramount. I understand the importance of fiscal prudence to support essential services and community needs.

🀝 Collaborative partnerships: Building relationships with other elected officials, community organizations, and businesses is not just a preference; it's a necessity. Doing this ensures the best possible outcomes.

πŸ—³οΈ Genuine representation: Now, more than ever, we need leaders who listen. I am dedicated to being your voice in local government, prioritizing transparency and accountability every step of the way.

🌳 Strategic planning: Looking to the future, we must chart a course that ensures Lincoln County remains resilient and can weather any storm that comes our way. I have a commitment to long-term vision and sustainability. I want my children, and yours, to have a safe and self-sustaining place to grow up in - hopefully staying here to start and raise their families.

In these uncertain times, experience matters. I bring a wealth of knowledge gained from the past 5 years as your County Commissioner, and I continue to learn every day, because I care. Moreover, I am steadfast in my dedication to serving Lincoln County constitutionally and honestly. Let's stand together.

What a fun time, celebrating the history of our great community! It was great seeing so many people turn out! True to form, the weather was less than ideal, but at least the rain held for the parade!

This article is crucial to read. When you read it, understand that 30% of the land in Montana is owned by the people but is managed or controlled by the Federal Government.

Timber and forestry have been the primary industries in Lincoln County (followed by mining, tourism/recreation, and agriculture) for as long as any of us have been alive, and decades before us.

Our forests are an abundant financial resource that we are largely unable to access currently.

As Pat Stoken once said at a National Forest Land meeting in Eureka, "We are knee-deep in a river and dying of thirst."

When we can't log our own lands, we can't sell timber to the mills, and our local economy suffers. Then mills shut down and people are left unemployed, and then their local economies suffer. Then, with a limited supply of lumber, lumber prices skyrocket, and we suffer again. Then we turn around and import our lumber from Canada, bolstering their country's economy, when our own backyard is filled with an untapped resource and our economies struggle.

Do you see it? We have to do better. For our county. For our state. For our country.
