On Thursday April 23, 2026 at 14:06, the Rexford Fire Department was dispatched by the Saratoga County Communications Center to a reported Structure Fire at a residential building.
The first arriving crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from the structure. Upon completing a 360 assessment of the incident, the home became completely involved and a decision to commence a defensive attack was ordered. Of major concern was a residential home to the north. Due to the blowing winds, and the heavy fire, the service lines to the residence became disconnected and created a hazard until the local utility company was able to terminate power. A master stream was deployed to protect that structure. There was damage to that home with the melting of vinyl siding, but crews were able to prevent any fire from entering the inside of that structure. The fire was brought under control in about 50 mins. After a substantial overhaul the building was taken down due to safety concerns, all units cleared at 17:50.
