RFD is deeply saddened with the passing of Taylor County Fire Chief Jameson Byrd. We are so thankful for his service to our community. His dedication and willingness to help others will long be remembered. Our prayers are with his family during this time.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jameson Byrd, Taylor County Fire Chief. After a long battle with cancer, he is no longer suffering and is with the Lord.
Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers while they deal with this difficult time.

Join us tonight and enjoy a BBQ or hot dog plate. All profits go towards the RFD. See you at 6 PM.

The 2024 RFD Banquet was held this evening. We had a wonderful evening filled with fellowship and celebration.

Alan McCullars Jr. and Tyler McCullars were both honored with awards for 15 years of dedicated service. Chief Sam McCrarry was proudly recognized as Firefighter of the Year.

We are deeply grateful for their commitment and service to our community along side the rest of our department.

Special thanks to Flint Engergies for allowing us to use their facilities tonight.

The best way we can describe how to get Hurricane Ready. We are already seeing signs of Hurricane Helene, heavy rain and flooding. It is going to get worse. Please read over this hurricane preparedness plan and make plans accordingly.

Please try to stay off the road if possible, let's keep the roads clear for Emergency Personnel and Essential Workers.

Make sure to download the Code Red App or sign up online to get weather alerts in your area. You can text “Taylor” to 99411 to sign up.

Please have patience with 911, they are working overtime right now. Please keep all calls for emergencies only.

We want everyone to STAY SAFE and please continue to check our page for updates.

As we prepare for the Hurricane, please “like” and share the Taylor County Emergency Management Agency page and tune in there for all local updates.

We will share the posts as we can here, but the TCEMA page should be your go to for current information and updates.

Your Volunteer Fire Deparment is ready to serve. Stay safe out there and remeber to treat all downed powerlines as if they are electrified.

This past weekend, we had blast at the Georgia Strawberry Festival. We didn’t get to many photos because we were having to much fun. Our Volunteers Firefighters were apart of the parade, dunking booth, firetruck pull and traffic control.

Special thank you to all who supported our BBQ fundraiser (Friday night) and dunking booth fundraiser (Saturday). We are blessed to be part of Reynolds.
