Parents:

In case you're unaware, our pool pump is in need of replacing. It finally came in, so it is being replaced tomorrow. We will most likely not be able to swim first thing in the morning. There's a chance we could swim tomorrow afternoon. If your camper is enrolled in swim lessons, you will receive a separate communication from the Aquatics Director if lessons will be cancelled. The goal is to replace the pump early and as quickly as possible.

Aside from our swimming time, camp is not affected by this. It will be a full day, and we will be able to utilize the other areas of the property.

See everyone in the morning!

Good Morning!

We ARE opening camp at 11:00. Please drop off at Starr Library. For everyone’s planning, we will be spending the day under the pavilion, and unfortunately we will not have access to the pool.

See you soon!

Parents:

On 7/29/26, the weather is showing thunderstorms starting overnight tonight through 1:00 tomorrow afternoon. We are not permitted under our pavilion when it is thundering. Therefore, we will have a delayed opening at 11:00am. You will need to drop your campers off at the Starr Library, not the pavilion. All of our staff will be present to receive your campers. We will remain in the library during thunderstorms, and come to the pavilion when it is safe. Lunch will most likely be delayed, but will be provided when we can access the snack bar.

BE AWARE - there is the possibility for camp closure if necessary. Make arrangements! We will inform you all by 10:00am if we need to close.

Thank you for your understanding,
Kim

Camp is remaining open until 4:00, but we have a thunderstorm starting, so we are now at the Starr Library. Please pick your campers up at the downstairs door.

Thanks!

Parents:

We have made the decision to close camp today. The NYS Department of Health and NYS Department of Environmental Conservation have issued an air quality health advisory today, with an AQI forecast of 170. This refers to particles and pollutants in the air. It is considered “unhealthy” and the recommendation is to limit all outdoor activities.

We understand the challenge cancelling camp presents, and we appreciate everyone’s understanding.

Information can be found at airnow.gov and appfactory.dec.ny.gov/AQI/.

Attention Parents:

Unfortunately, the projected air quality for tomorrow is worse than today. We are hoping it will improve, so as of now we are delaying the opening of camp until 10:30. Our hope is to open in time for swim lessons, however please be aware that we may shift to a full closure depending on the forecast. Management will be on site in the morning so we can assess.

If you would like to track the air quality, the site recommended to us by the Department of Health is airnow.gov.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding, as the health and safety of your children is paramount.

Kim

AirNow is your one-stop source for air quality data. Our recently redesigned site highlights air quality in your local area first, while still providing air quality information at state, national, and world views.

Attention Parents:

Due to the air quality, the smell of smoke in the air, and the rising humidity levels, we have chosen to be cautious and close camp at 1:00pm today, July 15. We will have lunch as usual and dismiss from our pavilion.

We appreciate your understanding. The kids have been asking a lot of questions and we felt this was the safest course of action.
