Last night our members saw a demonstration of a dollhouse burn. This is performed to show how ventilation effects fire behavior on a small scale.

The dollhouse had different built-in slides to control various pre-cut holes. The key point was to explain how we can control the fire and its flow path by controlling those slides. Additionally, the members gained experience on smoke reading.

After 15 years of serving in Oneida county as a volunteer firefighter, LT Josh Raith is retiring from the C.V.F.D.

Josh has filled many different roles and positions throughout the years showing his dedication to the C.V.F.D. Josh has moved out of the area to focus on his family needs.

We thank him and his family for everything they have done for this community! From all of us at C.V.F.D., we wish them the best!

Thank you to all who attended our picnic last saturday to support the volunteer department. We are grateful for the continued donations!

Special thanks are owed to one of our supporters, Wally's South 17, for generously donating the pork for our pulled pork sandwiches.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next year on July 17th.
