residents and visitor alike. We will be courteous and professional in our postings and ask
that you do the same. Reasonable and responsible ar

guments for opposing views are
encouraged. The City is not responsible for settling disagreements between users, nor will
a comment be removed solely at the request of a user. All posts and comments shall be
subject to review by City page managers prior to being posted on any City-managed social
media page. The City reserves the right to not post and/or delete or hide content or comments that:

• Contain a personal attack, insult, racial slur or any other derogatory term
• Defames any person or organization
• Is off-topic and unrelated to the original post
• Uses foul language or is sexually explicit, including "masked" profanity
• Promotes hate or discrimination of any kind
• Is spam, including any advertising of commercial services or products
• Encourages or promotes illegal activity or violates any local, state or federal law
• Contains private or personal information
• Endorses or opposes any candidates, political parties, or a particular stance on a ballot
measure or specific legislation

Violations of the above comment policy may cause the author/user to be permanently
blocked from the City of Rhinelander, Wisconsin page. Expectations
We understand that social media is a 24/7 medium; however, our moderation capabilities
are not. We may not see every inappropriate comment right away, so we must rely on the
maturity of our community to ignore personal attacks and negative speech or respond
politely. If a user posts a comment that requires a response, it will be answered within two
business days between 8:30 a.m. A posted comment (which could be in the

Tuesday, June 2nd - Finish areas missed from Monday, additionally Oneida Ave west to Wisconsin River, Park St north of Kemp St.

Wednesday, June 3rd - Davenport St south to Park St,

Thursday, June 4th - Stevens St west to Wisconsin River, High St south to Davenport St (Including areas on Davenport near the Rhinelander Paper Mill).

WI DOT US HWY 8 Construction Project - 5-22-26 Update

This is as WI DOT Project. Contact WisDOT Project Manager: Michelle Guoin, 715 365-5792 with questions.

Highway: US 8
Location: WIS 47 to WIS 17 North
Schedule: April 20 to September 2026
Project description: Crews will remove the existing asphalt and concrete pavement, pave a new asphalt pavement surface and install centerline rumble strips. The intersections of WIS 17 South/WD Boyce Drive and County G with US 8 will be reconstructed as single lane roundabouts.

Anticipated work scheduled: Crews will:

Remove asphalt and concrete
Install new storm sewer
Traffic impacts:

During construction, US 8 will be closed during construction and detoured onto WIS 17 North, Lincoln Street, South Courtney Street, Pelham Street, Arbutus Street and Kemp Street.
The project will maintain a minimum of one lane of US 51 in each direction and maintain at least one lane of traffic on the side street during construction. Lane width restrictions in the work zone will be posted as maximum 10 foot.

Pioneer Park Historical Complex opens on Saturday! Start your Memorial Day weekend with a fun and free outing at our wonderful historical park!

Opening for PPHC's 94th year in operation. This weekend!

Founded in 1932, Pioneer Park Historical Complex has grown into one of Wisconsin’s premier local history museum campuses. Located in Rhinelander, Wisconsin within Pioneer Park along the Pelican River, the complex preserves and interprets the history of the Northwoods through museums focused on logging, railroads, conservation history, rural education, and local folklore.

The complex is especially known for housing the oldest logging museum of its kind in the nation, along with the famous “5 Spot” locomotive, Rhinelander Papermill exhibit, extensive Hodag displays, historic structures relocated from throughout the region, and more!

With something for everyone, families, history lovers, and curious explorers alike, Pioneer Park Historical Complex is a must visit destination in the heart of the Northwoods!

Public Works Community Forum: The second of three community forums will be held Thursday, May 21 at 6:oopm on the second floor of City Hall at 135 S Stevens St in Rhinelander. The second community forum is entitled, “Your Department of Public Works Leaders” and will be hosted by new Public Works Director Tom Roeser. In attendance will also be the foremen for the Streets Department, Wastewater Treatment Plant, Parks, and the City’s Water Department. This community forum will offer residents an opportunity to ask questions of the various Public Works departments.
