We are gearing up in the Children's Department for STEAM September starting tomorrow. This is one of the activities that will be available for kids. Kids who visit weekly during this month or kids who sign up for a library card will get a free book!

There's a really fun school story up for viewing at Hodag Park in the Story Stroll. The title is Is This Your Class Pet by Troy Cummings. It's a phenomenol day to take a walk and read a good story by the water! Only two more stories left for the season so we hope you get out and enjoy :)

The RDL had 23 attendees for our first ever Plant Bingo. There were 55 plants available for prizes, courtesy of Hanson's Garden Village of Rhinelander, WI. Attendees had lots of fun, and everyone was able to go home with a plant!🪴

We had our last Outside Storytime celebrating our community workers with Police Chief Chiamulera from the Rhinelander Police Department as our special guest. He read the kids "Police Officers on Patrol" by Kersten Hamilton complete with a beep from a squad going by as we were singing "The Wheels on the Police Car. The kids got to explore his squad car after storytime. We are grateful to have such involved leadership in our community. What a fun way to wrap up our summer Storytime!

A total of 17 people came to create their own tea blend with Michele from Bath and Body Creations & Coffee Haus on 8/19. They had the option of blending a base of black, green, or rooibos (red) tea, with various additional flavors, spices, and scents. It certainly left the meeting room smelling wonderful.

The Kid's Department wrapped up Book Clubs this week. The 3rd & 4th graders read The Terrible Two and the 5th & 6th graders read Countdown to Yesterday. Book Clubs are always a highlight of our summer!
