We had an evaluator loss/change so had to switch our trailing dates. Anyone already signed up has been contacted, but note dates are now June 3-5 (Wednesday - Friday). If this opens up an opportunity for you, please sign up!

It's that time of year again!

TRACKLAYERS WANTED (June 3-5): For those who have helped us before and those new and interested, we are looking for some volunteer tracklayers for June 3-5, 2026 for our recertification testing for our tracking K9s. Looking for people willing to spend the day with us, walk roughly a mile at a time through varying conditions (urban, woods, etc.) under the direction of an outside evaluator then sit at the end and read a book or whatever staying put for approximately 1-3 hours until the K9 finds you. We'll have some water and food for you and the appreciation of our team for helping us do what we do finding lost people. Over 18 is preferable but will take teens with parent permission and sign-off. We haven't left anyone out there...yet...so if looking to lose a family member, we're not the group to do it for you. A special thanks to Rhinelander Auto Salvage for hosting us once again for training. They do a lot for local fire departments allowing us to use their property and vehicles for training.

Last night Newbold work on vehicle fires. May you never have to deal with one, but if so, we’re ready to respond!

Thank you Nicolet Bank!

Amy Vanney of our Rhinelander branch stopped by Newbold Fire Department to deliver a donation from the Nicolet National Foundation. Joining Amy in front of one of the vehicles is Steve Siefert & Mark Fetzer. The Newbold Volunteer Fire Department in Rhinelander, WI, established in 1968, is a community-based organization serving Oneida County. Located at 4588 State Hwy 47, they provide fire protection, rescue, and emergency services. The department consists of volunteers with an active K9 Search and Rescue team. They respond to fires, medical incidents, and accidents. The Nicolet National Foundation, Inc. is a public charity directed by the employees of Nicolet Bank.

We had a great training today as a K9 team with a special opportunity to use a portion of the old Foster & Smith building before a new tenant moves in. Mark Raddatz and K9 Jason of Rhinelander Police Department also got to join us for a track between shifts. A special thanks to all our guest tracklayers, the new owners for this one-time building opportunity and teammates for all the work you put in EACH AND EVERY week (many for 10 years, almost everyone for over 5). That’s a lot of hours to be ready when needed. Enjoy the photos!
