With Open Arms Inc. is honored to receive support from the Sisters of St. Joseph Healthcare Foundation to help strengthen our work with McKinney-Vento students and families experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in San Bernardino County.

This support will help us continue providing housing stabilization, wraparound services, and compassionate care that keeps students connected to school and families connected to hope.

We are deeply grateful for the Foundation’s partnership and shared commitment to supporting vulnerable children and families with dignity, stability, and opportunity.

Please join us in congratulating our Founder and CEO, Leslie Evans on being sworn in on Wednesday night, as one of the newest Planning Commissioners for the City of Banning.
What makes this achievement even more inspiring is that she has only been a resident of Banning for one year, officially reaching that milestone on April 28. Her appointment reflects her ongoing commitment to leadership, service, and making a lasting impact within the community.
Through her work with With Open Arms Inc. and now in this new role, Leslie continues to demonstrate the importance of civic engagement, community development, and creating opportunities that strengthen the future of Banning.
We are proud to see her continue leading with purpose, vision, and dedication to the communities she serves. Congratulations, Leslie. Your With Open Arms family celebrates this incredible accomplishment with you.

In partnership with BLU Educational Foundation’s College Exodus Project, We had an incredible time at San Bernardino Valley College for Black Student Success Week and Black Excellence Day 💜

With Open Arms showed up not just as a vendor, but with purpose. We connected directly with students who took the time to complete our housing stability survey, helping us gather real data on what’s actually happening for K-12 students and Transitional Age Youth in college.

Education and housing stability go hand in hand. When students don’t know where they’re going to sleep, it impacts their ability to focus, persist, and succeed in school. Stable housing is not separate from education, it is a foundation for it.

These conversations matter. The stories matter. The data matters.

Too many students are navigating school while dealing with housing instability, and this work helps us shine a light on the realities of McKinney-Vento and homeless youth that often go unseen and unheard.

Every survey completed is one more voice helping us push for better support, stronger systems, and real solutions.

We’re grateful for every student who stopped by, shared their experience, and trusted us with their story. This is how change starts.
