During EMS Week, we recognize the dedicated professionals who work together every day to provide lifesaving care to our community.

This year’s official theme, “Improving Outcomes, Together,” highlights the critical collaboration between 911 dispatchers, first responders, healthcare professionals, and the communities we proudly serve.

From the moment a call is received to the care provided at the hospital, every link in the chain plays a vital role in improving patient outcomes.

Thank you to all EMS professionals for your commitment, compassion, and service.

Whether in the emergency room, hospital floor, clinic, ambulance, or behind the scenes coordinating care, nurses are often the calm in the chaos and a vital part of every patient’s journey.

We are proud to work alongside so many incredible nurses who continue to make a difference through teamwork, professionalism, and heart.

You think it’s just a quick text… until it starts taking over everything.

One message turns into a distraction you can’t ignore — and behind the wheel, that’s all it takes.

We might joke about it, but distracted driving is no joke. It puts you, your passengers, and everyone else on the road at risk.

Put the phone away. The conversation can wait.

Distracted Driving Awareness Month

Every second matters behind the wheel. One distraction can change everything.

In 2025, distracted driving claimed thousands of lives across the United States — tragedies that were entirely preventable and left lasting impacts on families and communities.

A text can wait.
Food can wait.
That notification can wait.

Lives cannot.

At the Rialto Fire Department, we see the consequences of distracted driving far too often. Many of these incidents could have been avoided with one simple decision: stay focused.

Stay alert. Stay present. Stay alive.

Put your phone away
Set your GPS before you drive
Use hands-free options if needed
Speak up if someone else is driving distracted

Let’s work together to make our roads safer for everyone.
