Our current orientation academy is in week 4 of 6. Our new recruits participate in 6 weeks of Fire & EMS training, accounting for approximately 40 hours and work an additional 32 hours on shift as an extra crew member during orientation. This week, the recruits conducted hose packing, hose deployment, nozzle work, search and rescue, small engines, forcible entry, victim rescue, RIT, and large area search.

Don't overload power strips! 🔌

✅ Power strips should be plugged into a wall outlet, not an another power strip or surge protector.
✅ Power strips are for low-voltage electronics.
✅ Check the power strip or wall plate. If it feels warm to the touch, unplug immediately!

With the new school year about to begin, keep safety in mind around bus stops.

✅ Kids should be waiting at least 10 feet from the bus .
✅ Drivers must stop at least 20 feet from a school bus with flashing red warning lights.
✅ Stay alert, particularly in school zones and near bus stops.

Using the grill this weekend?

🌭 Only use grills outside & 10 feet away from anything it can burn.
🐶 Don't let children & pets near the grill.
👍 Clean it often to remove grease or fat build-up.

Cooler weather is coming and so is the Wisconsin hunting season. Today Blue shift took advantage of this gorgeous weather and worked on tree stand rescue operations.
