Leadership Barron County

Leadership Barron County Leadership Barron County (LBC) is a community-based leadership organization.

The program begins in September with a leadership retreat for orientation and leadership training. The retreat is followed by monthly event days held on the second Tuesday of each month through May. Each monthly program will provide opportunities to learn about leadership and about a specific aspect of the Barron County community. The event days include interactive programs, presentations, discuss

ions, and on-site tours. In addition to the monthly sessions, participants will select and complete a community service project which addresses a current county issue. Approximately 12 participants are selected each year through a competitive application and interview process.

The 2025–2026 Leadership Barron County program concluded its year with a memorable day of tours, celebration, and golf. The day began with an informative tour at Norm-E-Lane Dairy, followed by a visit to Kauffman Metals to learn more about their operations and impact within the community. The group then enjoyed a stop at A&M Sugarworks, where participants sampled a variety of maple syrups — with the apple and bourbon flavors quickly becoming group favorites!! 🍁 🥞

After a morning of educational and engaging tours, the program concluded with a celebration honoring this year’s graduates, followed by a round of golf. ⛳️

This officially wraps up another successful year of Leadership Barron County, and it was truly a wonderful group of leaders. As their community project, the group created buddy benches to be donated to schools throughout Barron County. Each year, Leadership Barron County selects a self-sustaining project designed to make a lasting, positive impact within the county, and this year’s project will serve as a meaningful reminder of inclusion and friendship for local students. 🧒 👶 👧🏼

✨ Rice Lake Day Highlights! ✨

Our Leadership Barron County group had an incredible Rice Lake Day, spending the day learning, connecting, and seeing firsthand what makes this community thrive!

🏁 We kicked things off at Don Johnson Auto Group, gaining insight into leadership, teamwork, and what drives long‑term success.

🤝 Next, we visited the Rice Lake Boys & Girls Club, where we learned about the impactful programs and services supporting local youth.

🚓🔥 We then toured the Rice Lake Police Department and Fire Department, hearing from leadership about public safety, service, and community collaboration.

🍽️ Midday, we enjoyed lunch at Lehman’s, generously sponsored by Sanford Marshfield Clinic.

🌱 The afternoon included a stop at Aqua Gardens, where we learned about their history, marketing, and community involvement.

⚙️ We wrapped up our site visits with a tour of Rice Lake Weighing, getting a behind‑the‑scenes look at their operations and local impact.

☕ The day ended at Social House with great conversation and project discussions.

Thank you to all the organizations who welcomed us and shared their stories—Rice Lake is full of leadership, innovation, and community spirit! 💙

November 12th was our day to get this Cumberland party started! Participants scored a backstage pass to some seriously cool places. We kicked off the day by getting the lowdown on Cumberland Federal's daily grind, all while sipping on some joe from Roots - thanks, Ardisam! Next up, Skinner Funeral Home gave us the 411 on the important work they do. Then, we swung by 3M, Louie's Finer Meats, and Cumberland Healthcare for lunch, courtesy of Cumberland Federal - nice! We wrapped up the day with a couple more sneak peeks at JA Northwest Construction and Ardisam. After all that exploring, participants unwound and brainstormed their final group project at Tower House.

All in all, it was a great day with lots of learning and collaboration!

Day 1 of Leadership Barron County 2025–2026 was a huge success! 🎉

Our group kicked off the year with our first program day, focused on Rice Lake businesses — and what an incredible day it was!

☕ We started bright and early with delicious coffee from Badger Brew, sponsored by Blue Hills Chiropractic, which was also our first stop of the day.

🏢 Next, we met with the Rice Lake Chamber of Commerce to learn about all the amazing things they do to support our community and local businesses.

🎓 From there, we headed to Northwood Technical College, where we explored the many programs, classes, and partnerships that make such a big impact in our area.

🍴 After a great lunch at Social House (thank you to WESTconsin Credit Union for sponsoring!), we hit the ice at the Rice Lake Curling Club! The volunteers were fantastic teachers, and our group even got to play a short game — so much fun! 🥌

🏙️ We wrapped up the day with a Downtown Rice Lake scavenger hunt, visiting local businesses and learning fun facts about each one. Special thanks to all who welcomed us and donated prizes for our participants!

✨ Shoutout to:
Rice Lake Public Library, TWT Furniture and Gift Galleries, Ventures Apparel, The Boardwalk, Two Sisters Boutique, LLC, Northwoods Cycle, and Poppy Popcorn Co.

We’re so grateful to all the sponsors, businesses, and volunteers who made our first day memorable — what a fantastic start to the year! 💙

🌟 We kicked off the 2025–2026 Leadership Barron County term with our annual retreat in Hayward! 🌟

Our participants spent time in the classroom listening to inspiring leadership speakers, discovering their personality colors, networking, and learning more about each other and their professions. They also rolled up their sleeves to brainstorm ideas for this year’s community project.

It was a great mix of learning, connecting, and planning — and we’re excited for all that’s ahead in the coming year! 💡🤝✨

🎉 Cue the Confetti… It’s LBC Application Time! 🎉
Leadership Barron County (LBC) is officially on the hunt for our next group of awesome humans for the 2025–2026 program year — and yes, that means YOU (or someone just as cool).

So, what is LBC? Should you join? Why does everyone who joins suddenly become cooler? Let’s dive in. 👇

😎 What Is Leadership Barron County?

LBC is like the ultimate local adventure for grown-ups who want to make a difference — minus the awkward trust falls. We’re a community-based leadership program where people from all over Barron County come together to learn, grow, laugh, tour cool places, and leave an impact.

By the end of the year, you’ll have:
• Sharpened your leadership skills 🧠
• Made amazing connections 🤝
• Visited places in Barron County you didn’t even know existed 🗺️
• Done something awesome for a local nonprofit 💪

🗓️ What’s the Commitment?
• We kick things off with a fun overnight retreat in September (think leadership camp for adults — snacks included 🍿).
• Then, we meet up once a month on the second Tuesday, from October through May. Each session has a theme — think behind-the-scenes tours, guest speakers, hands-on activities, and maybe a few surprises.
• You’ll also roll up your sleeves and work with your fellow LBCers on a community service project that makes a real difference.

👀 Who Should Apply?

If you:
• Have a spark for leadership
• Want to know what actually goes on in your county (besides the county fair, obviously)
• Are tired of networking events where no one remembers your name
• Love the idea of growing your skills while having fun with a group of amazing humans

…then you should definitely apply. Bonus points if you like snacks.

🌟 Why Join?
• Make new friends (and not just LinkedIn connections — like actual friends)
• Grow as a leader without boring PowerPoints
• Get behind the scenes of Barron County’s businesses, schools, nonprofits, and more
• Leave a positive impact on your community
• Have stories to tell that start with, “So at Leadership Barron County…”

🎯 Applications are open now!
Only 12–15 spots are available, and they’re known to go fast (like the good donuts at morning meetings).

So don’t wait — come be a part of something fun, meaningful, and uniquely you.
Let’s make 2025–2026 the best LBC class yet! 🎉 message us here or send an email to [email protected] for your application 🙂
