Harlan Dodge, Mayor I'm a lifelong resident of Rice Lake. I retired from the tire industry. Married to the love of my life Kathy. Thank you for voting me Mayor of Rice Lake.

We have three children, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. I will be a progressive mayor. Good morning everyone.
When you are driving down main street in Rice Lake you will notice some trees with no foliage on them. The city of Rice Lake requested main street residents to only spread sand salt compound on the sidewalks. But after Community Services did an assessment it was found that too much salt or pure sodium chloride was used on sidewalks and store parking lots. With the melting process all of the runoff went directly to the trees and killed them. Now the trees have to be replaced.
I am hoping next year brings better results with better education not to use 100% salt.
