🔥 Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the Riceville Fire Department during Wapsi Days!

Whether you played in our bean bag tournament, stopped by for a brat or hot dog meal, grabbed a drink, volunteered your time, or simply came out to cheer everyone on—we truly appreciate your support.

A special thank you goes out to everyone who was so understanding and flexible as we rearranged our schedule due to the rainy weather. Your patience and willingness to adjust made it possible for us to still have a successful event despite Mother Nature’s plans.

Year after year, this community continues to show up for us, and we never take that for granted. Your support helps us continue serving the Riceville area and strengthens our department in countless ways.

From all of us at the Riceville Fire Department—thank you for believing in us, supporting us, and making this year’s Wapsi Days another memorable success. We couldn’t do it without this incredible community. ❤️🚒

The Riceville Fire Department would like to make everyone aware that the tornado sirens going off is not under discretion from anyone on the Riceville Fire Department whether we (or the chief) tell them to blow the siren or not. The order to blow the siren is done by Mitchell County EMA. At any time LaCrosse Weather Service puts Mitchell County in a tornado warning, the sirens are going to sound, whether there is rotation or not. We just want to give the citizens of Riceville a heads up and to be extra weather aware! Thank you!

It's the time of year where controlled burns are happening!

🚨🔥 if you plan on doing a controlled burn, please make sure the Mitchell and/or Howard County sheriff's office's are informed! This can save a lot of volunteer's time and resources.

🚨you must be sure that the area you plan on burning is manageable by the equipment/personnel that you have.

🚨STAY on site until the fire has fully extinguished.

If we are paged out to an unreported controlled burn, our policy is to put it out.

Please be safe and use common sense when carrying out these burns! Thank you in advance for your help with this!
