ACTIVE MINDS HILL DAY RECAP 💚💙🤍
Our Active Minds chapter won the “2026 CUTTING EDGE ADVOCACY AWARD,” given to chapters who embody creativity and innovation in providing mental health advocacy! We were invited to attend Active Minds’ Hill Day + Mental Health Conference in Washington, D.C. The conference brought together hundreds of young adults and mental health advocates from across the country to share ideas and advocate for meaningful change in mental health education, awareness, and policy.
As part of the FIRST-EVER Hill Day, we had the opportunity to visit Capitol Hill and meet with congressional representatives to discuss the importance of prioritizing mental health. Our chapter members spoke with representatives Michael T. McCaul, Marc A. Veasey, and Sylvia Garcia from Texas, along with senators Katie Britt and Tommy Tuberville and Representative Dale Strong from Alabama about the importance of the Campus Lifeline Act (H.R. 8657) and the implementation of 988 on student IDs.
