We would like to congratulate Sunnyvale Independent School District student Briana John for placing 3rd at the Business Professionals of America’s National Competition for the “Network Administration Using Cisco” category!

A junior at Sunnyvale High School, Briana wanted to join clubs related to the healthcare field, but took an interest in BPA, a career and technical organization for students in high school that prepares them for careers in business and information technology.

During her freshman year she advanced to the State Leadership Conference, and fell in love with the energy and excitement of what BPA had to offer. After advancing to State again her Sophomore year, she finally made it to the National Leadership Conference this year! At the BPA National Competition, she was scored based on an objective test that tested her knowledge in a hands-on simulation Cisco environment.

“I would like to thank my advisor/coach Blair Briscoe, all of the officers in our BPA club at Sunnyvale High school, my friends and family for encouraging and supporting me as I competed, and all those who helped me throughout my journey in competing in BPA this year,” Briana shared.

“He has so much fun playing with Legos, so this was the perfect learning tool for him.” Like many seven year olds, Marcos Rodriguez loves Legos. Thanks to some specially designed Legos, his favorite toy is now one of his favorite learning tools. “It has been a highly motivating tool for Marcos. I always save the Legos for the end of our lesson because it gives him something to look forward to and keeps him engaged.” says his teacher, Mrs. Garner.
