Our club gathered at Four Bullets Brewery this month for our August social hour. It’s always great to visit this local spot, known for its authentic English-style ales with a Texas twist.

We had a wonderful time catching up, meeting new folks who stopped by, and talking about our plans for the club over the coming year. A big thank you to the team at Four Bullets for hosting us!

🎉 A Day of Impact at the North Texas Food Bank!

We recently had the incredible privilege of touring the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB), organized by Ashley Edling from the Network of Community Ministries.

The scale of what they accomplish every single day is truly mind-blowing! Here are a few staggering facts about their operation:

Massive Footprint: Their facility spans an incredible 4 football fields under one roof! 🏈

Rapid Distribution: A dedicated fleet of 20 trucks rotates their entire non-emergency stock every 14 to 21 days to get meals where they are needed most.

We were deeply impressed by the professionalism from top to bottom—from their heart for philanthropy to the precision tracking of every single pallet. It is an award-winning effort and a true pillar of strength in our North Texas community.

Thank you, Ashley and the NTFB team, for showing us how hope is delivered on a massive scale! ❤️🤝

Richardson East Rotary Club launched a new year under the leadership of President Andrew Hervey, fresh from his attendance at the Rotary International Convention in Taiwan. He detailed valuable insights gathered from general and breakout sessions. This landmark global gathering united over 37,000 passionate Rotarians from every corner of the world to connect and learn. Members left with a renewed dedication to community service and lasting local and international impact.

Our kick-off celebration also honored past District Governor Mary Bedosky alongside 2025-26 RERC President Leslie Benson for their outstanding leadership.

The entire room was completely captivated. Our own Richardson East Rotary member, Assistant Fire Chief Gene Senter, recently delivered an insider's observations on the historic July 4, 2025, Kerrville flood. Drawing from his extensive expertise as a State of Texas Urban Search and Rescue Task Force Leader, he shared the profound "story within the story" of that crisis from his position of command in Kerrville.

With over 27 years of dedicated service to the Richardson Fire Department, Chief Senter truly exemplifies the spirit of a community servant. We are deeply honored to have such a prominent, state-known leader within our club and community, offering us invaluable, firsthand insights into his high-stakes emergency leadership. 🎖️🤝🏛️

Thank you Kim Quirk and Richardson Chamber of Commerce for hosting this special presentation.
